Cambodia to Get 5 More Million Doses of COVID-19 Vaccines by July

AKP Phnom Penh, Cambodia expected to get 5 more million doses of COVID-19 vaccines in July this year, underlined H.E. Dr. Yuok Sambath, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Health.

While welcoming the arrival of one million more doses of Sinovac vaccine Cambodia bought from China at Phnom Penh International Airport this morning, H.E. Dr. Yuok Sambath said Cambodia will receive 2 million more doses of Sinovac in the last week of June and 3 million others in July.

The Royal Government has already authorised the purchase of 3 more million doses of Sinovac, and the contract will be signed soon, she added.

With the newly arrived vaccines, Cambodia has got in total over 9 million doses of vaccines: 3.2 million doses of Sinopharm, 5.5 million doses of Sinovac, and 324,000 doses of AstraZeneca/SII (COVISHIELD).

As of June 18, the vaccination coverage against COVID-19 pandemic in Cambodia reached 32.58 percent of the planned 10 million people to be vaccinated. The figures from the National Ad-hoc Commission for COVID-19 Vaccination show that 3,257,857 people have got their first dose, of them 2,667,037 have already received their second jab.
