Cambodia will soon mine gold in Rattanakiri and Mondulkiri, two north-eastern provinces, according to H.E. Suy Sem, Minister of Mines and Energy.
Addressing to the opening ceremony of the ministry's two-day annual meeting this morning, H.E. Suy Sem said gold extracting process will start in the near future.
Medium stock of gold mineral have been discovered in Rattanakiri while this rare mineral have been also spotted in Mondulkiri.
Though it possesses the precious mineral, Cambodia still needs international private counterparts to extract it, as the work requires proper side-effect assessment and heavy experience.
Figures show that Cambodia has generated about US$16 million as tax income from mining industry.
