Cambodia is planning expansion of free internet access in key tourism destinations by early 2023.
The update was shared recently by Minister of Tourism H.E. Thong Khon when chairing an appointment ceremony of new director of Phnom Penh Municipal Department of Tourism.
The telecommunication ministry, continued the tourism minister, is processing the installation of free Wi-Fi access in Phnom Penh capital and the provinces of Siem Reap, Preah Sihanouk, and Battambang.
Expected to be done by 2023, the free Wi-Fi will contribute positively to attracting more tourists to Cambodia, promoting the Kingdom's economy and employment.
According to the Ministry of Tourism, Cambodia received nearly 3 million foreign tourists for the first five months of 2019 � up 11.4 percent compared to the same period last year.
