Cambodia To Dispatch 49 Peacekeepers to Join a Military Drill in Bangladesh

Some 49 Cambodian blue helmet troops will leave here soon to take part in the upcoming Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI)-Shanti Doot IV in Bangladesh.

Gen. Sem Sovanny, Director General of the National Centre for Peacekeeping Forces, Mine and Explosive Remnant of War Clearance (NPMEC), said yesterday that those peacekeepers will depart for this two-week-long military drill tomorrow.

This drill will be hosted by the Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operation Training in cooperation with U.S. Pacific Command.

Cambodia has so far deployed its blue helmet troops to join many peacekeeping exercises in different countries such as Australia, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Thailand, the U.S., Nepal and so on.
