Cambodia will celebrate the three-day Water Festival in Tonle Sap River in front of the Royal Palace, Phnom Penh, this week, from Nov. 21 to 23.
His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, will preside over the annual celebration with Senate President Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum, National Assembly President Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, Prime Minister Samdech Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, senators, parliamentarians, senior government officials as well as foreign diplomats to Cambodia in attendance.
At least 295 racing boats from the provinces and municipality across the country and 15 decorative lighted boats representing the Royal Palace, National Assembly, Senate, Government, Ministry of National Defence, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Economy and Finance, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Mines and Energy, Ministry of Industry and Handicraft, Phnom Penh Municipality, Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, and the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia are expected to join in the Festival.
In addition, fireworks are held at night after the boat races during the three-day festival.
