Cambodia, Thailand Discuss Mine Clearance Cooperation

Cambodian Senior Minister and First Vice President of the Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority (CMAA) H.E. Ly Thuch met here on Mar. 14 with H.E. Cherdkiat Atthakor, Thai Ambassador to Cambodia to discuss mine clearance cooperation between the two countries.

On the occasion, H.E. Senior Minister highlighted the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC)’s endeavours and achievements in resolving landmine and ERW issues.

H.E. Ly Thuch also informed his guest of the RGC’s vision to clear all landmines by 2025 and to turn the border areas with its neighbours into an area of peace, stability, safety and development.

H.E. Cherdkiat Atthakor highly appreciated the achievements attained by the RGC in mine clearance efforts in the past 30 years, and expressed his support for Cambodia’s goal of a mine-free nation by 2025.
