Cambodia Supports Complete Removal of Trade Embargo against Cuba

Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly (NA), expressed Cambodia's support to the complete lifting of trade embargo on Cuba.

While receiving H.E. Juan de Jesus Hidalgo-Gato Perez, newly appointed Ambassador of Cuba to Cambodia, at the NA Palace yesterday, Samdech Heng Samrin underlined that Cambodia is pleased to see Cuba be released from the trade embargo imposed by the U.S. for nearly a decade, H.E. Keo Piseth, Spokesperson of the NA president, told reporters.

Cuba is a friend of Cambodia under all circumstances, said Samdech Heng Samrin, recalling the long-standing relationship between the two countries, especially the two NAs. He further said that Cuba has contributed to the development of Cambodia through scholarship provision.

H.E. Juan de Jesus Hidalgo-Gato Perez thanked Cambodia for her support to Cuba on the international arena. He also pledged to do his best to tighten the cooperation between both countries.
