PHNOM PENH, Cambodia South Korea has accepted Cambodia's request to build a bridge across the Mekong River, the Agence Kampuchea Presse (AKP) reported.
According to a press release on the outcomes of the meeting between Prak Sokhonn, Senior Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, and South Korea's newly appointed Ambassador Oh Nak-young at the ministry office in Phnom Penh last Friday, Cambodia highly valued the Korean government's response to accepting Cambodian Prime Minister's request to construct a Cambodia-Korea Friendship Bridge across the Mekong river.
The press release issued this morning did not give details of the bridge.
Both countries also exchanged views on their cooperation in the bilateral, ASEAN-Korea and Mekong-Korea framework as well as the positive developments in the Korean peninsula.
Cambodia and South Korea established diplomatic ties in 1997.
