Cambodia has requested China to further invest in processing and packing of agricultural products for exports to international markets.
H.E. Pan Sorasak, Minister of Commerce, made the request while receiving a courtesy call from Mr. Li An, Economic and Commercial Counsellor at the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Cambodia, recently at the ministry office, as shared in a news release of the Ministry of Commerce.
The purpose of the meeting was to introduce Mr. Wu Guoquan, the embassy's newly appointed Economic and Commercial Counsellor, to the minister.
H.E. Pan Sorasak informed his guests of effort of the ministry in enhancing agricultural products for exports to China through forums such as trade fairs at Cambodia Trade Centre located in China.
The minister also requested the Chinese side to facilitate the export of Cambodia's agricultural products and encouraged more Chinese companies to invest in Cambodia.
Mr. Li An thanked the minister for good cooperation with the Chinese counterpart, and Mr. Wu Guoquan promised to boost bilateral trade cooperation through organisation of more trade and business fairs and forums to give opportunities to private sector of both countries to network and partner.
