Cambodia Repatriates Remains of 269 Vietnamese Soldiers

Cambodia has repatriated remains of 269 Vietnamese voluntary militaries who sacrificed their lives during the Kingdom's civil war to their country, according to local media report.

The official ceremony to return the remains took place recently at Long An province of Vietnam under the presidency of H.E. Men Vibol, Governor of Svay Rieng province, H.E. Phan Chanthol, Governor of Pailin province, Mr. Hoeurng Sokun, Deputy Governor of Battambang province, senior officials of Vietnam's Long An Provincial People's Committee, and other concerned delegates of the two neighbouring countries.

In the event, the participating dignitaries of Cambodia and Vietnam exchanged appreciation and conducted ritual ceremony for the remains of the soldiers.

According to the same source, of the remains mentioned, 152 were discovered in Svay Rieng, 71 in Battambang and 7 in Pailin.
