Cambodia Reaffirms Good Friendship with the U.S.

Cambodia remains a good friend of the U.S. despite some comments that the Kingdom has turned to China.

The remarks were made by the Royal Govenrment's Spokesperson H.E. Phay Siphan at a press conference here at the Office of the Council of Ministers yesterday afternoon.

The two countries had shared good memories together and cooperated in different areas such as restoration of ancient temples, mine clearance and so on, said H.E. Phay Siphan, adding that those who spoke of bad relations between Cambodia and the U.S. and between Cambodia and the European Union want to "kill" democracy in Cambodia.

According to a press release from the Office of the Spokesperson of the Royal Government of Cambodia made public on Mar. 11, the Cambodia-China partnership development phenomenon reflects the confidence of local and international investors in the capacity of the Royal Government led by Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen to continue strengthening efficiency for peace, stability, good political atmosphere and energy, which creates favorable conditions for investment and free trade.

Cambodia smiles to all countries without discrimination by sticking to the approach internal reform, increased external relations, underlined H.E. Phay Siphan.
