Cambodia may experience some flash floods during the upcoming rainy season, according to official weather forecast released yesterday by the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology.
Lasting from early May until mid-November, the rainy season can bring medium and heavy rains to the low-and highland areas of Cambodia, while the coastal part of the country would be likely to undergo downpours.
The weather reported to be caused by Enso and La Nina phenomena from the Western Pacific Ocean and South China Sea will lead to the mentioned flash floods.
Thunder, lightning and gust can happen from May to June, especially in central lowland area, and a dry period may fall between late July and early August.
Heavy rains and flash floods are also likely to happen from mid-August to September, added the forecast.
