Cambodian and Japanese leaders have acknowledged that Cambodia-Japan relations are at the best level ever.
The spirit was highlighted here on Feb. 14 by H.E. SOK Chenda Sophea, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, at the reception commemorating the National Day of Japan.
H.E. SOK Chenda Sophea extended warmest congratulations to the Government and the people of Japan.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasised the enduring friendship, excellent ties, and close cooperation between the two countries in both bilateral and multilateral frameworks over the years. He highly appreciated Japan’s vital role in contributing to Cambodia’s peace and reconstruction processes in the early 1990s, as well as for its continuous assistance in supporting the Kingdom’s socio-economic development.
The Deputy Prime Minister stated 2023 was indeed a very special year for both countries as Cambodia and Japan celebrated the 70th Anniversary of the Diplomatic Relations and elevated the rel
ationship to a ‘Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.’
