Cambodia Hosts Ultra Trail Angkor 2017 Successfully

Ultra Trail Angkor 2017, a 128-kilometer race, organised by the Ministry of Tourism and the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) in Siem Reap cultural province, ended with success on Jan. 21.

According to the Ministry of Tourism's news release, almost 500 local and international athletes from 37 countries around the world, including the host country, took part in this two-day event, the 2nd of its kind.

In men's category, Mr. Antoine Guillon outstayed the rest in 12 hours 21 minutes and 56 seconds, and for women's category, Ms. Annie Cramard Joniaux won the first place with a timing of 14:09:33.

The first winners of 64 km challenge are Mr. Yann Defond of Cambodia in 5:53:53 and Ms. Elena Komova in 6:23:46.

Besides, there were 32 km and 16 km races.

H.E. Thong Khon expressed his delight with the success of Ultra Trail Angkor 2017 as the number of athletes increased almost doubly. He hoped that next year's event would be more successful.
