Cambodia's Ministry of Commerce in collaboration with the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC) and the Russia-Singapore Business Council organised the Business Forum Cambodia-EAEU 2017 in Phnom Penh last Saturday.
The forum was co-chaired by H.E. Pan Sorasak, Minister of Commerce, and H.E. Ms. Tatiana Valovaya, Member of the Board (Minister) for Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission and participated by about 150 participants who are representatives from line-ministries and institutions, ambassadors from the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states, and private sectors from both sides, Cambodia and EAEU member states.
According to a news release of the Ministry of Commerce, the forum aims at paving the ways for our businesses and investors to explore the sources of opportunities and forge new alliances under the support from the governments of the parties concerned.
The involvement of the private sector from both sides is very important since they are the main drivers of greater economic growth, help to foster a greater economic cooperation, helps to pursue a more comprehensive business and investment cooperation, and particularly supports the opening of new market through the negotiation of Free Trade Agreement between Cambodia and the EAEU which will generate plentiful and sizeable opportunities for private sector in both emerging economies, it added.
