The National Standards Council has so far discussed and approved more than 800 national standards for products and goods.
The figure was shared in a meeting of the National Standards Council held here recently under the chairmanship of H.E. Cham Prasidh, Senior Minister and Minister of Industry and Handicraft and President of National Standards Council.
The move is aimed to ensure that all products or goods produced in Cambodia follow the standard as demands for products or goods with high quality and in conformity with international standards are increasing.
At the same time, the National Standards Council updated its membership and established two new standard technical committees - Digital Standards Committee and Textile Standards Committee - and two new policy technical committees to contribute to the development of industry, trade, technology and the economy, catch up with Industry 4.0, and the trend of developing standards within the ASEAN and international frameworks.
