Cambodia has registered 12,287 formal and 569,688 informal enterprises as of 2018.
The update was shared by the Minister of Labour and Vocational Training H.E. Ith Samheng during a recent get-together chaired by Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen with over 20,000 workers at Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone in Preah Sihanouk province.
H.E. Ith Samheng underlined that the latest figure of formal enterprises represents an increase of about 10 percent compared to that by 2016.
The total registered enterprises generate nearly 4 million jobs for Cambodians, he pointed out, adding that the workers are being paid close attention by the Royal Government of Cambodia.
This year, Cambodian garment and footwear workers' monthly minimum wage increased to US$170 from US$153 in 2017 without counting other benefits.
