More and more high standard hotels have been built in Cambodia in response to the unceasingly progress in the country's tourism industry.
Up to last year, Cambodia had in total 781 hotels of 45,070 rooms, but only 108 of which have got star rating, according to the summary report on the Royal Government of Cambodia's major achievements between 2013 and 2017.
Of the 108 rated hotels, 26 of 5,821 rooms have been classified as five-star hotels, 37 of 5,304 rooms as four-star hotels, 27 of 2,358 rooms as three-star hotels, 12 of 714 rooms as two-star hotels, and 7 of 325 rooms as one-star hotels, it added.
Besides, Cambodia has 2,255 guesthouses of 33,727 rooms, 2,239 restaurants, 308 massage parlours, 619 tour agencies, 38 tourism transportation companies, and 5,291 tour guides of 12 different languages � English, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, French, Korean, Spanish, Vietnamese, German, Russian, Italian, and Malay.
For the first four months of this year, Cambodia attracted 2.4 million foreign visitors, up nearly 14 percent compared with the same period last year. The figure is expected to rise to over 6 million by the end of this year and to 7 million in 2020, generating about US$5 billion income and creating some 1 million direct jobs.
