Cambodia, Germany Sign Financing Cooperation Agreements

The Royal Government of Cambodia and the Government of Germany reached here yesterday two financing cooperation agreements worth in total 67.1 million Euro or US$74 million.

The agreements were signed by H.E. Aun Pornmoniroth, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, and H.E. Christian Berger, Ambassador of Germany to Cambodia.

The first signed document is the 2018 Cooperation Financing Agreement, under which, the Government of Germany will grant 30 million Euro in concessional loan and two million Euro in grant aid to support energy efficiency project for rural electricity supply.

The second is the 2019 Cooperation Financing Agreement, through which Germany will provide a 30 Euro-million concessional loan for rural infrastructure development in Cambodia and a grant aid of 5.1 million Euro to support financing of a number of specific projects.

This signing of the two agreements is an important event reflecting the friendly cooperation between the Royal Government of Cambodia and the Government of Germany in support of social and economic development in Cambodia, said H.E. Aun Pornmoniroth.
