Cambodia, China Laud Bilateral Relations and Cooperation

Cambodia and China have spoken highly of the achievements obtained from the good bilateral relations and cooperation during the past 63 years of diplomatic ties.
The remark was made at a bilateral meeting between the National Assembly (NA) of Cambodia and the National People’s Congress (NPC) of China held via videoconference yesterday afternoon, under the co-chairmanship of NA President Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin and H.E. Li Zhanshu, Chairman of the NPC’s Standing Committee.
Both sides assured their readiness to further strengthen the close cooperation between the two legislative bodies and to continue mutual support on regional and international issues.
In the past 63 years, the diplomatic ties between both nations have strongly rooted and become comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation, which has brought about numerous benefits for the two peoples and contributed positively to the regional and global peace and prosperity, underlined Samdech Heng Samrin.
The Cambodian NA expressed his appreciation for the efforts of both counties’ governments in strengthening and expanding cooperation, especially in the areas of economy, trade, and investment, including Cambodia-China free trade agreement, infrastructure development and so on.
Samdech Heng Samrin reiterated Cambodia’s adherence to the One China policy and thanked China for its support to Cambodia, particularly for its recent decision to provide 1million doses of COVID-19 vaccine for Cambodia.
For his part, H.E. Li Zhanshu noted the stronger relations and cooperation between both countries, in particular during this COVID-19 crisis, and reaffirmed China’s assistance to Cambodia in all circumstances to promote its economic growth and enhance the people’s living standard.
