Cambodia has proposed Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to continue supporting Cambodian Mine Action Centre (CMAC)'s activities in the country.
Gen. H.E. Sem Sovanny, Director General of the National Centre for Peacekeeping Forces, Mine and Explosive Remnant of War Clearance (NPMEC) made the proposal during his recent meeting with visiting Tokyo-based JICA senior advisor Ms. Eri Komukai, here in Phnom Penh.
The NPMEC director general also briefed the visiting delegation on the NPMEC's work, crediting its success to the assistance from JICA.
JICA has assisted CMAC in demining activities since 1999, according to Ms. Eri Komukai.
