Cambodia has appreciated contribution of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to the development of electricity supply in the country.
H.E. Suy Sem, Minister of Mines and Energy expressed the appreciation when receiving Ms. Sunniya Durrani-Jamal, ADB Country Director for Cambodia, yesterday at his office here in Phnom Penh.
According to H.E. Suy Sem, by far electricity supply is accessible by nearly 87 percent of villages or about 73 percent of households throughout Cambodia.
This achievement, continued the minister, was contributed significantly by ADB, especially its financial assistance to Cambodia in building electrical infrastructures.
He also asked the Bank to continue helping the ministry to further expand connections and transmissions of the power supply, to promote utilisation of renewable energy, and to develop technical expertise in Cambodia.
Ms. Sunniya Durrani-Jamal thanked H.E. Suy Sem for sharing the progress and looked forward to cooperating with the ministry to bring Cambodia power supply to another level.
