Business Registration System on Information Technology Platform Phase 2 to be Launched in September

The Business Registration System on Information Technology Platform (OBR) Phase 2 will be officially launched on Sept. 1, 2021 under the presidency of H.E. Dr. Aun Pornmoniroth, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance and Chairman of the Committee on Economic and Financial Policy.

The ceremony will be attended by representatives of participating ministries of the Phase 1 and Phase 2, business associations, civil society organisations, development partners, embassies and educational institutions, pointed out a press release of the Ministry of Economy and Finance made public on Aug. 25.

According to the source, the OBR Phase 2 is a sharp reform package of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, announced in the 18th government-private sector forum on Mar. 29, 2019.

The first phase, which was launched on June 15, 2020, covers the business registration at the Ministry of Commerce, tax registration at the General Department of Taxation, as well as the notification of enterprise opening at the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training.

This second phase expands its scopes to the online application of licence or permit based on business activities, with specialised ministries in charge of sector-based technical supervision. There are four ministries/institutions participating in this second phase, including the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, the Real Estate Business & Pawnshop Regulator of the Non-Bank Financial Services Authority.
