Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has called on members of the state correspondent’s chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) to be fair in reporting activities of government as he commences his second term in office.
The Governor, who made the call while making a donation of an 18-seater bus to the Chapel, admonished them to always crosscheck their facts before going to press.
Represented by the Deputy Governor, Chief Yetunde Onanuga, Governor Amosun said that the bus was in appreciation of the commitment and unflinching support of the union to the current administration in the drive to achieve the objectives of its rebuilding mission.
According to him, journalists are partners in progress as they had contributed immensely to the smooth running of his administration in the last four years.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman, Correspondents Chapel of the Ogun NUJ, Kunle Olayeni, expressed gratitude to the state government for coming to the aid of the Chapel, noting that their support for the Senator Ibikunle Amosunled administration was borne out of the various development projects being executed across the length and breadth of the state.
“This is beyond our comprehension. We belief we are stakeholders in government’s mission to rebuild and we are determined to show our support for the good governance of Senator Amosun, which has rated the state as one of the best among its peers in the country,” he said.
