Australia Delivers More COVID-19 Pediatric Doses to Cambodia

Some 283,200 Pediatric Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine doses for use in children aged 5 to 11, donated by Australia to Cambodia, arrived in Phnom Penh capital this morning, bringing Australia’s pediatric Pfizer-BioNTech donation to 482,000 doses.

H.E. Mrs. Yuok Sambath, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Health, and Mr. Andreas Zurbrugg, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Australian Embassy in Cambodia, welcomed the arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport.

According to the Australian Embassy in Cambodia, the vaccines, delivered through its global partnership with UNICEF Cambodia, add to Australia’s significant support for Cambodia through the COVID-19 pandemic and are another milestone as both countries celebrate 70 years of diplomatic relations.

“We strongly encourage parents to ensure the vaccination of their children is up to date. This will help protect them and their community against COVID-19,” the embassy said, reaffirming Australia’s commitment to working with Cambodia as a long-term friend and partner in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
