ATF 2022 in Sihanoukville Concluded with Success

The ASEAN Tourism Forum 2022 (ATF) hosted by the Kingdom of Cambodia was a success and no participant was found positive for COVID-19.
The remarks were made by Cambodian Minister of Tourism H.E. Thong Khon on Jan. 23.
“As of Jan. 22, all the delegates who participated in the event have returned to their respective countries. No one was tested positive for COVID-19 after taking the PCR tests before leaving Sihanoukville,” he underlined.
Some international delegations have sent messages appreciating Cambodia for the successful hosting of ATF 2022 and thanking the Kingdom for the warm hospitality, the minister said.
H.E. Thong Khon added that a group of foreigners attending TRAVEX, the ATF’s travel trade fair, continued their visit to islands of Preah Sihanouk province, to Phnom Penh capital, and Siem Reap province, home to the famous Angkor temples.
“The Ministry of Tourism will disseminate the good news to the region and the world to promote safe tourism destinations in the country, while the Royal Government of Cambodia announced the reopening of the country’s tourism as well as that of ASEAN tourism,” H.E. Minister said.
The AFT 2022 took place from Jan. 16 to 22 in Sihanoukville, Preah Sihanouk province, along with side meetings, such as the Meeting of ASEAN National Tourism Organisations (NTOs); the Meetings of ASEAN Tourism Ministers, ASEAN + China, Korea, Japan Tourism Ministers, ASEAN + Russia Tourism Ministers, ASEAN + India Tourism Ministers.
The ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) is a cooperative regional effort to promote the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) as one tourist destination. This annual event involves all the tourism industry sectors of the 10 member states of ASEAN: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam.
ATF was established in 1981. Each year, the hosting of ATF is rotated among the member countries.
