During the first six months of 2019, competent authorities have intervened 11 large cases, confiscating over 700 kilogrammes of illicit drug, and arresting some 900 suspects.
The update was shared by H.E. Gen. Ke Kim Yan, President of the National Authority for Combating Drugs (NACD) during the authority's meeting here in Phnom Penh yesterday.
The figure does not include the intervention against 4,175 minor cases, wherein about 342 kilogrammes of illegal drug have been seized and 8,911 suspects arrested, added the authority president.
Among the arrested suspects, Cambodians outnumbered the rest, following by Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai, Lao, Nigerian, Russian, Dutch, Malian, Norwegians, Turkish, Indonesian, and Korean.
