H.E. Pit Chamnan, Permanent Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports will be awarded with the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon from the Government of Japan.

H.E. Pit Chamnan, former Rector of the Royal University of Phnom Penh, is among the recipients of the 2022 Spring Conferment of Decorations announced by the Cabinet Office of the Government of Japan on Nov. 3, according to a press release of the Embassy of Japan in Cambodia.

H.E. Pit Chamnan is recognised for his contribution to the promotion of academic exchanges and mutual understanding between Japan and Cambodia in the field of education, especially his support for Japanese language education, it underlined.

In relation to the Embassy of Japan, the source continued, H.E. Pit Chamnan contributed to the education of the Embassy’s diplomats who are Khmer language experts through providing them with a homestay programme and other occasions to deepen their understanding of Cambodian society and culture.
