Media practitioners in Asia and other parts of the world will gather in the 16th Asia Media Summit 2019 (AMS Angkor 2019) to be hosted by Cambodia in mid-June to exchange their ideas on the future of broadcasting industry amid the fourth industrial revolution.
The AMS Angkor 2019, to take place from June 12-13 in Siem Reap province under the theme Media Digitalisation � Focusing on Developing Markets, will also attract government officials, policy makers, broadcasters, scholars, and stakeholders of news and programming.
The Asia Media Summit is one of the leading international broadcasting events that give the opportunities to broadcasters, media practitioners, industry leaders, academia, researchers, experts and media policy makers throughout the world to meet and discuss on how to develop media's quality during the times of stiff competition in technological revolution, said H.E. Khieu Kanharith, Minister of Information of Cambodia in a welcoming message.
Organised by the Cambodian Ministry of Information in partnership with Asia Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD), the upcoming annual event will be preceded by five pre-summit workshops on Leadership in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Impact of Augmented Reality (AR)/Virtual Reality (VR) on Media, Combating Disinformation, Trends in 4K Technology, and Creating Impactful Content in Digital Era, on June 10-11. The participants will discuss the upcoming technologies, trends and challenges related to the media industry.
For the summit, it will be officially opened on June 12 under the high presidency of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The summit will comprise eight plenary sessions discussing the impact of fourth industrial revolution with the subjects of Artificial Intelligence, Latest Technologies in Broadcasting Distribution, strategies to overcome Disinformation/Fake News, latest Broadcasting Monetisation strategies, etc.
In the concluding session, there will be the presentation of World Television Awards 2019 followed by a CEO Meeting.
After the summit, the participants will have the opportunity to explore the famous Angkor Wat Temple, a UNESCO's World Heritage Site, and enjoy the discovery of the very beautiful and historical city of Siem Reap as well as the visit to CMAC's Peace Museum of Mine Action.
