Nearly all cabinet members of the six-mandate Royal Government of Cambodia are more than 50 years old, except one who reached this year 38 years of age.
The new cabinet led by Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen is composed of 10 deputy prime ministers, 17 senior ministers, and 29 ministers. They were given a vote of confidence by the 125 newly-elected lawmakers at the first session of the sixth legislature of the National Assembly yesterday. They held their first plenary meeting this morning at the Peace Palace, Phnom Penh.
The oldest cabinet member is H.E. Deputy Prime Minister Hor Namhong, 83, while the youngest is Minister of Environment H.E. Say Samal, 38.
Besides, the majority of them are in their sixties, some are in their seventies and others in their fifties.
