Cambodia exported a total of 39,000 tons of rubber latex in the first quarter of this year, a slight increase compared to the same period last year, according to a report of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (MAFF).
The export generated more than US$57 million as income to the country, it added.
Cambodian rubber latex was exported mainly to Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore and China with an average price of more than US$1,400 per ton.
The total rubber plantation area in Cambodia is about 430,000 hectares, pointed out the MAFF's General Directorate of Rubber Plantations.
Recently, a Chinese company from Shaanxi province has reached a memorandum of understanding with the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce on the purchase of 300,000 tons of rubber from Cambodia in 2018.
