All enterprises under the labour law have to pay their workers and employees every two weeks starting from January 2019, announced the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training in a Prakas issued today.
According to the Prakas signed by H.E. Ith Samheng, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training, the workers and employees will get half of their salary in the second week and another half, along with incentives and other benefits, in the fourth week of each month.
Currently, salary is paid to the workers and employees at the end of every month.
Cambodia’s labour sector is on the positive trend with the employment rate of 99.3 percent or nearly 10 million people. The country has now over 12,000 registered factories and enterprises, and almost 600,000 non formal economic enterprises employing more than 2.4 million people.
