AirAsia, a Malaysian low-cost airline, will operate direct flights from Kuala Lumpur to Sihanoukville of Preah Sihanouk province four times a week soon.
The information was shared by visiting Mr. Anthony F. Fernandes, Group Chief Executive Officer, AirAsia Bhd while paying a courtesy call on Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen this morning, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum on ASEAN 2017 in Phnom Penh.
Now, he added, the company is selling the tickets for the direct flights from Kuala Lumpur to Sihanoukville, and in the next three months, there will be daily direct flight between the two destinations.
With this new direct flight, AirAsia is optimistic to attract 3 million tourists to Cambodia in the next five years, he affirmed.
For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed welcome to AirAsia's new route, stressing that it will encourage more visitors to Cambodia and provide more choice to the Cambodian people whether to fly to Malaysia from Phnom Penh or Sihanoukville.
