Asian Development Bank (ADB) will help Cambodia construct a big modern water filtering pool in the country's central province of Kampong Cham.
Encompassing a total land surface of 10 hectares, the filtering pool will be located in Boeung Snay area, Sangkat Sambour Meas of the province.
The project is part of an effort to manage wastewater vital for local livelihood and environment, according to Mr. Khy Tanglay, Director of the Provincial Department of Environment.
Deputy Governor of Kampong Cham city Mr. Han Lina said that the purification facility will not only contribute to more clean water supply among the locals, but also reduce the city's proneness to flooding.
In addition to filtering pool, the bank's investment of more than US$22 million include two other key activities: drainage system rehabilitation and solid waste recycling plant.
