ADB, a Good Development Partner of Cambodia

The Head of the Royal Government of Cambodia, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen underlined that the Asian Development Bank (ADB) is a good partner for Cambodia’s development.

The Cambodian Premier made the comment when he received visiting H.E. Masatsugu Asakawa, President of ADB, at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel this evening, on the sidelines of the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits and Related Summits, according to H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Personal Assistant to Samdech Techo Hun Sen.

The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to ADB for supporting Cambodia’s rapid development and its economic recovery from the COVID-19 crisis. He also thanked H.E. Masatsugu Asakawa for accepting his invitation to share inputs at the forthcoming Second ASEAN Global Dialogue.

For his part, H.E. Masatsugu Asakawa congratulated Samdech Techo Hun Sen on the successful organisation the ASEAN Summits and Related Summits and Cambodia’s successful control of the COVID-19 pandemic.

H.E. Masatsugu Asakawa said ADB has predicted that the Cambodian economy would grow by 5.3 percent this year.

Besides, H.E. Masatsugu Asakawa also highly appreciated Cambodia’s commitment to combat climate change, and emphasised that ADB is determined to deepen its partnership with Cambodia through grants, mobilisation of funds, investors and technology to help Cambodia become an upper middle-income economy by 2030 and a developed nation by 2050, and to assist the Kingdom in green development.
