The Computers Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN) has called on President Mohammadu Buhari led Federal Government to deploy Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools if they are to achieve their set goals as carefully and beautifully highlighted in the All Progressive Congress (APC) manifesto.
The Registrar of CPN, Mr. Sikiru Shehu stated this at the weekend, while announcing the 2015 edition of the CPN organised Information Technology Professionals’ Assembly to be held at at Transcorp Hotel, Calabar, Cross River State from Wednesday Thursday June 10 -11 2015.
According to Mr. Shehu, all the problems in every sector of our national life can be effectively tackled with the proper deployment of ICT tools. “In every sector of our national life, be it power, Agriculture, finance and economy and others, there is corruption; proper deployment of ICT can bring down corruption to its minimum”.
He noted that a holistic development of the ICT sector will help the present administration to plug all the loopholes where the wealth of the nation has previously been frittered away.
“We believe that it is time the Country reflects on the developments in the IT Industry to ensure that the vast resources and enormous potentials available in the Industry are used to address daunting national challenges. This exercise will be done in a coordinated and structured pattern which is provided for by the opportunity of the assembly.
