Within 10 months since taking office as Minister of Public Works and Transport, our Ministry has conducted many important reforms which I would like to share with you.
We have restructured MPWT's organizational infrastructure are rotated officials to improve work effectiveness within the Ministry.
We have conducted extensive process mapping to improve road construction, pothole repair, and road maintenance in a timely and more efficient manner.
Our railway infrastructure has been reconnected and renovated and we continue to expand our country's railway network to further reduce transportation cost's. To further alleviate traffic congestion we are in the process of developing a passenger train service between Phnom Penh - Phnom Penh Airport and Phnom Penh - Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone. We are also in the process of conducting two feasibility studies for the construction of two major expressways.
We are also preparing to expand our sea and inland waterway ports and set up port EDI systems which will facilitate the formality paperwork of vessels to and from Cambodian ports, speeding up procedures and reducing the cost of transporting goods by sea.
Recently the Ministry officially launched the "National Online Automation System" for Vehicle Registration, Driver's License Registration and Test and Technical Vehicle Inspection Registration. This new online system will reduce administrative procedures, save time and be more convenient for our citizens. We have also launched a free mobile App "Cambodia Driver Driving Rules" to assist citizens in learning about the driving laws and help the, better pass their drivers exam.
As many of you already know, and have used, we have launched the new Driver's License Renewal Center at AEON Mall in Phnom Penh. This satellite office provides express services, seven-days a week and 12-hours a day services and provides fast service for our citizens needing to renew their drivers license.
