China's Ningbo Polytechnic College has promised to award scholarships particularly in the areas of construction and electronics to Cambodian students.
The commitment was made by the college's rector Mr. Zhang Huibo during his recent meeting with Cambodian Minister of Labour and Vocational Training H.E. Ith Samheng here in Phnom Penh.
H.E. Lao Him, the ministry's Director General of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) briefed reporters of the meeting.
On behalf of the Royal Government of Cambodia, the labour minister thanked Ningbo Polytechnic for the offer, said H.E. Lao Him.
The Royal Government of Cambodia considers human resource development as a priority sector in its Rectangular Strategy-Phase III with an aim to promote technical and vocational skills to meet national and regional market demand as well as to ensure strong economic enhancement, according to H.E. Ith Samheng.
H.E. Minister continued that in addition to the mentioned endeavour, the Royal Government of Cambodia has put forward a number of supporting policies for the sector, including National Employment Policy 2015-2025, Industrial Development Policy 2015-2025, and National TVET Policy 2017-2025.
