Cambodia is going to hold the annual Cambodia International Film Festival (CIFF) from Mar. 5 to 11, 2018.
H.E. Mrs. Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts, will preside over the opening and closing ceremony of the festival.
Hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, the Cambodia's Premier film event has been organised by the Cambodia Film Commission and the Bophana Centre, in partnership with major film industry players, theatres, sponsors and filmmakers.
According to a video clip posted on CIFF's Facebook page, some 130 films from 41 countries will be showcased in eight screening venues in Phnom Penh, including Major Cineplex, Platinum Cineplex, all three Legend Cinemas, Chaktomuk Theatre, and the French Institute's theatre, as well as the Bophana Centre. Outdoor screenings are also scheduled at Koh Pich (Diamond Island), it added.
This week-long event, the 8th of its kind, is aimed not only to present other cultures, and exchange ideas, but also to be a crossroad for young and more experienced film professionals to expose their work.
