Cambodia Rice Federation (CRF) kick-started today its 6th Rice Forum with a side-line launch of newly registered certification mark of Cambodia's premium rice brand Malys Angkor.
Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Yim Chhay Ly, Chairman of the Council for Agricultural and Rural Development, chaired the opening of the event and the launching ceremony.
According to CRF's announcement, taking place at Hotel Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra here in Phnom Penh, the two-day activity � Jan. 22-23 � aims primarily at developing transition strategies and policy to promote rice growing in lowland areas, including Tonle Sap Basin and Lower Mekong.
It also intends to brand Cambodia's premium rice Malys Angkor especially to the international market, following years of support.
Key speakers such as Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries H.E. Veng Sakhon, under-secretaries of state from concerned ministries, and CRF President H.E. Sok Puthyvuth will take the opportunity to talk on interesting topics related to rice growing and its markets.
