Up to June 4, 411 journalists from 51 local and foreign media organisations have already received their respective press passes for media coverage during the 6th general elections in July, according to the National Election Committee (NEC)'s press release.
The international media organisations include AFP, Kyodo News, Thomson Reuters, Associated Press (AP), EPA, Xinhua, Al Jazeera, Channel News Asia, the Ashahi Shimbun, NHK, the Straits Times, etc., it pointed out.
NEC has been examining the application forms of other 183 national and international journalists, it added.
Cambodia will organise the 6th national election on July 29, 2018, and NEC has already announced the period for the political campaign that will fall from July 7 to 27.
Twenty (20) political parties � the ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP), Cambodian Youth Party, Cambodian Nationality Party, Khmer National United Party, FUNCINPEC Party, Khmer United Party, Grassroots Democracy Party, New Light Party, Beehive Social Democratic Party, League for Democracy Party, Khmer Anti-Poverty Party, Dharmacracy Party, Republican Democratic Party, Our Motherland Party, Khmer Rise Party, Khmer Economic Development Party, Khmer Will Party, Khmer Republican Party, Reaksmey Khemra Party, and Cambodia Indigenous People Democracy Party � will compete in the upcoming parliamentary election.
