38 Road Construction Project in Siem Reap 93 Percent Complete

The construction and rehabilitation of 38-line road infrastructure in Siem Reap city has reached nearly 93 percent as of November 2021, being pushed through to achieve the target.

The update of the progress was shared by H.E. Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister and Minister of Public Works and Transport during an inspection visit on Dec. 7.

According to the senior minister, the construction project was scheduled to take about 13 months and to be completed by the end of 2021.

To achieve the target, he asked relevant technical working groups to ensure technical quality of the rubberised asphalt concrete of the roads, appropriate tree planting along the roadsides, and installation of necessary road furniture.

The 38-road project stretches at a total of more than 100 kilometres, using the national budget of some US$150 million, of which US$9 million is spent on the construction of drainage systems.

The construction was broke ground on Nov. 30, 2020 under the presidency of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
