Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has opted for May 3, 2024, for the annual get-together with local journalists.
The date was unveiled yesterday afternoon by the Minister of Information, H.E. Neth Pheaktra, adding that the gathering will coincide with the World Press Freedom Day.
Starting now, he said, the Ministry of Information will have to update the list of journalists to be invited to the gathering.
The ministry will also collect comments and concerns from journalists to be heard by the Prime Minister.
Initiated by former Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, such gathering has been organised annually since 2017 as an opportunity for local journalists to raise their issues for consideration by the government.
The meeting, which will be the sixth of its kind next year, also demonstrates the freedom of expression in practice enabled by the Royal Government of Cambodia.
