France Grants 1 Million Euro to Build Capacity of Cambodian Civil Servants

The French government has decided to provide some 1 million Euro in grant aid to Cambodia for the Study and Capacity Building Fund-Phase 6 (FERC 6), via the French Agency for Development (AFD).

The grant agreement was signed by H.E. Vongsey Vissoth, Secretary of State for Economy and Finance and Mr. Philippe Bauduin, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of AFD, at the AFD's headquarters in Paris, France on Mar. 15.

On the occasion, H.E. Vongsey Vissoth expressed his gratitude to the French government and people for their full support to the peace seeking process, reconstruction and development of Cambodia.

The Kingdom's GDP has seen a tenfold increase in the past 20 years, thus transforming the country from a low income into a lower middle-income economy recently, he underlined.

H.E. Vongsey Vissoth and Mr. Philippe Bauduin also discussed the enhancement of partnership and strengthening of development cooperation between the two countries.

Since 2009, AFD has extended a total grant financing of 4.7 million Euro to Cambodia for the Study and Capacity Building Fund aiming at building capacity of civil servants.
