MELAKA, Forty panels featuring experts and industry players in digital and smart technology, including those from abroad, will participate in the Smart Melaka International Conference and Exhibition 2024 (SMIX2024) next month.
State Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Communication Committee chairman Datuk Fairul Nizam Roslan said the third edition of the event, scheduled for Oct 10 and 11, will feature experts and industry players from Singapore, Korea, Germany, the Netherlands, and New Zealand.
He said that SMIX2024 will be held under the theme ‘Better Cities: Global Mindset with Local Adaptability’.
‘For the organisation of SMIX2024, the state government has appointed Melaka ICT Holdings Sdn Bhd (MICTH) as the implementing agency, which will collaborate with the knowledge group to ensure the success of the two-day conference.
‘More than 200 participants are expected to take part in the 10 forum sessions, and three high-profile personalities will deliver the keynote addresses at SMIX2024,’ he
told reporters after chairing the SMIX2024 Pre-Launch Meeting here today.
Elaborating, Fairul Nizam said the conference will highlight five key topics, namely smart governance and economy; smart digital infrastructure; smart mobility; smart community and living; and smart environment.
He said the conference will showcase 10 exhibitors, representing digital technology agencies, companies, and smart cities, with additional programmes like business pitching for startups and product briefings also on the agenda.
Fairul Nizam said the organisation of SMIX2024 plays a key role in expanding smart initiatives and data empowerment under ‘Smart Melaka’, in line with the Melakaku Maju Jaya Strategic Plan 2035 (PSMJ 2035)
He said that SMIX2024 also serves as a platform for exchanging ideas and discussing strategies among digital industry players, aimed at advancing the digital industry and smart cities.
