The death toll from a fishing boat sinking that occurred in the South Sea earlier this week rose to three, with a missing sailor found dead Friday, the Coast Guard said. The accident occurred at 1 p.m. Thursday, when the 6-ton fishing vessel with six people onboard capsized in the sea off Wando of South Jeolla Province, some 360 kilometers south of Seoul. Three foreign sailors were rescued by a nearby ship soon after the accident but two people, including the captain, were found dead at the scene, with another sailor missing, according to the Coast Guard. The missing sailor was found dead at a fish farm about 1.4 km away from the accident site on Friday morning, the Coast Guard said, speculating that the accident was caused by bad weather.
